Children’s Community School

Children’s Community School (CCS) is a progressive TK–6 independent school in Van Nuys, founded in 1981 and rooted in the belief that children learn best through curiosity, collaboration, and meaningful experiences. Through an integrated, hands-on curriculum centered on social studies, the arts, environmental stewardship, and real-world learning, students develop critical thinking, creativity, and a genuine love of learning. CCS prepares children to think independently, participate thoughtfully in a diverse democracy, and become compassionate, engaged members of their communities.
