School’s Mission

PS1’s Mission is to spark curious and critical thinkers who confidently contribute to their communities.

A School Built for the Elementary Years: As a dedicated K–6 school, PS1 focuses intentionally on the years when children develop the academic foundations, confidence, and habits of mind that shape future success. Small classes and deep relationships allow every child to be known, supported, and appropriately challenged.

Joyful Learning, Meaningful Challenge: At PS1, students learn through inquiry, discussion, research, writing, mathematical reasoning, and creative problem-solving. Teachers meet students where they are and help them grow into confident thinkers, effective communicators, and resilient learners who are prepared for increasingly complex work.
