St. Matthew’s Parish School

St. Matthew’s Parish School is an independent Preschool–8th Grade school located on 28 acres of the Santa Monica Mountains in Pacific Palisades. An integral part of the Parish of St. Matthew and the larger Episcopal community, the School stresses moral and spiritual growth while welcoming and celebrating families of all faiths. Students are given individualized, loving guidance and genuine respect that allows them to reach further both safely and confidently in the pursuit of ideas, answers, and a deeper sense of understanding.

What makes St. Matthew’s unique is rooted in our School motto: Serve • Lead • Flourish. Instilled in our students is the confidence to lead and the compassion to serve. As they make their journey from Preschool to Eighth Grade, students develop character, leadership skills, and new interests and talents. We provide a learning environment that is both challenging and nurturing, which allows students to flourish fully.

Our Character Covenant, which is signed by every student, embodies what St. Matthew’s represents: Empathy, Fairness, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. And through our service learning programs, students develop the lifelong habit of serving others and learn to become capable, responsible leaders in the process.
